K-9 Ambassador

Canine Ambassador Atlas is a blue merle Catahoula dog who is 6 years old. His entire family came into the care of Lexington-Fayette Animal Care and Control (LFACC) when he was just 3 weeks old. His former owners were not able to financially afford care for his mom, dad and 5 siblings. Atlas quickly caught the eye of his future owner, Director Timothy Brown who was looking for a K-9 that could be utilized in educating the public. Atlas is now enjoying his duties as Jessamine County’s Animal Care and Control Canine Ambassador K-9. Atlas visits schools where children learn about proper animal interaction and goes with Director Brown to training where groups learn about bite prevention and animal safety. In his free time, Atlas loves to play with his little brother Achilles, his stuffed animals, go for walks, and meeting new people.
